I was introduced by one of my friends to Amaretto Sour last christmas. how did I miss this amazing drink? I have been making them weekly now. So easy and tasty!
Ingredients
- 2 oz amaretto
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- ½ oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- ½ oz egg white (optional, but recommended for that silky foam)
- Ice
Garnish (optional but nice)
- Lemon twist
- Brandied cherry
Instructions
- Add amaretto, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white to a shaker.
- Dry shake (no ice) for about 10 seconds to build foam.
- Add ice and shake again until well chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice (or up if you prefer).
- Garnish with a lemon twist and/or cherry.
Quick Variations
- No egg white: Skip it—still tasty, just less frothy.
- Amaretto Stone Sour: Add ½ oz orange juice.
- Less sweet: Cut the simple syrup down to ¼ oz.
